Whether I\u2019m cycling through a quiet neighbourhood, wandering into a new town, discovering a hidden caf\u00e9, or tasting something delicious for the first time, I\u2019m happiest when I\u2019m exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many years ago, I worked on a cruise liner, where every country had its own little nickname. South Africans travel under the diplomatic code <strong>ZAF<\/strong>, so the crew started calling us <strong>Zaffies<\/strong> \u2014 or <strong>Zaffas<\/strong>, depending on who you asked. Because I was always smiling, polite, and generally in a good mood, my shipmates upgraded me to <strong>Happy Zaffy<\/strong>, and the name stuck. Now it\u2019s part of the story I carry with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This blog grew from a simple idea: <strong>to capture the places I\u2019ve been, the food I\u2019ve enjoyed, and the interesting things that make life feel full.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I then had a brainwave, so many people have travelled to really special and exotic places so i expanded the blog to include other people\u2019s experiences. If you have a story, then please feel free to contact us so that we can share your stories and experiences on this blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re not professional travellers or a food critics. we\u2019re just people who enjoy noticing the small details \u2014 the smell of a street market, the charm of a local bakery, the view from a hilltop, the warmth of people we meet along the way. These moments deserve a home, and this space became exactly that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few things about me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I\u2019m sometimes on a bicycle or scooter when I\u2019m out exploring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I love discovering local dishes and trying anything at least once, my only prerequisite being that it\u2019s dead and not moving.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I enjoy simple adventures \u2014 the kind that make you smile without needing a passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I believe every place has a story, and every meal has a memory attached to it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, you\u2019ll find honest stories, real experiences, and snapshots of the world as we see it.
